Update On Google & Hijacked Pages

Toolbar or Malware?Yesterday I posted the allegation by World Net Daily that the Google toolbar is hijacking web ads.

It’s obvious from the photo that something fishy is going on.

But is it with the Google toolbar?

In discussing the allegation with my sources in the IT world, they believe that this is NOT an issue with Google or the Google Toolbar.

Instead, the IT professionals I talked to believe that the victim’s computer more likely had malware or spyware installed which altered the ads on the WND site. While a Google Toolbar installation is obvious the presence of malware or spyware may not be so obvious.

After all, Google is known for their TEXT advertising… not banner and image ads.

More as this develops…

I have to agree, I have been surfing the net 8 hours every night and every Google ads that I have seen are purely text ads and not banner and images ads. Definitely Google Toolbar has nothing to do with those explicit images.
