Becky McCray has a great article that demystifies online marketing. I like her phrase “90% of online marketing is being there!”
How true! I have a hobby blog that is not designed to make money but simply be a web log about my activities in a certain field. It’s even hosted on blogger.com but it’s getting google traffic from all over the world. Just a few a day, but it’s a very limited keyword.
But if your business had a simple blog like that and you posted a few times a week in your niche (and I use my keyword in every post on that blog) you might be surprised how your online marketing would help through Adsense clicks, related affiliate product sales, etc.
Here’s a summary of her excellent tips, but be sure to read the whole article at SmallBizSurvival.com
1. Be online on a regular basis
2. Use free social networking “profiles”
3. Use free local business listings available at Yahoo and Google
4. Use article and directory sites that let you post for free.
5. Leave comments on related blogs with links back to you.
6. Use online audio
7. Use online video
8. Post online photos
9. Use social media sites
10. Use pay per click revenue and affiliate plans
11. Participate in online forums
12. Use text messaging services
I’m exhausted typing all these great ideas… but there are more words of wisdom here at SmallBizSurvival.com on Simplified Online Marketing!
