Web 2.0 is a boon to people in business who need to identify potential warm markets and who need to network locally. MeetUp.com offers a perfect way to be notified weekly about groups meeting in your area. Even in rural areas you’d be surprised at the variety of groups meeting in your area.
Can’t FIND an existing group? (Or even if you can …) Then start your own group… or multiple groups.
Until you get to know the group, make sure the meet ups are in a public place and beware of scammers using the meet ups to promote trash. While I’m not aware of any problems that may have arisen from a MeetUP gone awry… it pays to be careful.
Best of all you’ll get an email of groups that meet weekly in your area.
At least check it out to see what’s happening near you!
Here’s the list of groups, for example, meeting near Atlanta
