One Person businesses are booming as I’ve reported before. Will the remain microbusinesses though? That’s the question. Or will they remain one person businesses as “teams” who share referrals but remain financially separate?
As the article reports, the “average” revenue was $38,000. But it’s deceiving because many of these businesses are part time operations or seasonal.
From Business First
“In the new economy – the 21st century economy – more people are going to be self-employed, and many will be working out of their homes,” says Susan McCartney, director of the Small Business Development Center at Buffalo State College.
The typical nonemployer business had revenues of just $38,500 in Western New York, 17 percent below the national average of $46,600. The Census Bureau’s report did not cover other financial data, such as expenses, taxes or profits.
