Gumtree.com - Another Resource For Job Seekers In The UK

Gumtree.com has created an attractive site for UK customers in particular. It serves communities long associated with the Britain’s far-flung interests of old. It looks to be a valuable resource for people seeking jobs in general, and hopefully will also help those looking to telecommute or work at home as well.

Recently I decided to test the site and search for “jobs in Edinburgh” to give the site a test run. There were a wide variety of positions placed daily. I’m not sure if “telecommute” is proper search term for this site…in the UK there may be another term for that like this Edinburgh job listing for a New Business Development Associate. It stated “The post holder will be required to work flexibly.” Is that “telecommute” in American parlance or more likely just flexible working hours? I assume folks in Edinburgh will know!

The site was well done, easy to navigate, and had a variety of jobs. Because there is a fee involved to place postings, it’s quite likely going to remain free of scams or swindles unlike most “free” job boards.

As it develops, I trust they’ll include separate categories for telecommuting positions as that trend is increasing in the UK as well. Overall, Gumtree.com is a great site to visit for job seekers in Edinburgh, Scotland, or elsewhere in the UK.
