How To Publish Your Ebook On Lulu.com

It’s easy to publish an ebook, but some people are worried about hackers, download thefts, credit card fees, etc.

So if you’d like to publish your ebook and have someone else do all the work (except the marketing which you’ll have to do), consider Lulu.com. Here’s their page about publishing your ebook.

Basically, it’s free.

You upload your ebook.

Then when someone buys it, you make your money and lulu.com keeps there.

Here’s how their cut is figured.

You choose how much you want for the ebook, then they add 20%.

If you want $15, they’ll take $3. so if you want to do that fancy pricing like selling something for $17, you’ll have to do the math.

The only problem is that at Lulu.com, you won’t be selling $17, $27 or $37 ebooks there most likely unless you can get away with selling the paper print-on-demand version for much more.

People shopping at LuLu.com will pay a premium for certain books, but they expect the ebook version to be significantly cheaper than print.

From Lulu.com

You can sell many types of files as downloads on Lulu, including music, images and e-books. This example shows the resulting selling price if you add a $2 royalty.

$ 0.00 No setup charge for download format
———
$ 0.00 Production cost

+ 2.00 Royalty
+ 0.50 Lulu commission (25% of your royalty)
======
$ 2.50 Price

Price = Production Costs + Royalty ($2) + Lulu Commission ($.50)
