LiveOps.com - the Inside Scoop from a Friend

Chuck’s Note: You can read all our LiveOps related posts here. You can check here if you’re coming to this page because of an outage at the LiveOps site.

I was talking to a friend of mine.

He was telling me what it’s like to be a home based call center representative for LiveOps.com

Basically he loves it.

He was working for a family member in a dental office. The family member (the dentist) retired and suddenly he was unemployed.

He had tried working for other dentists, but it wasn’t quite the same - plus he was logging about an hour’s commute each way.

So he found out about working at home with LiveOps.com.

He had DSL and a computer anyway. His only expense was obtaining a dedicated phone line.

He takes calls from people responding to direct response marketing ads and he’s the operator at the end of the 800 number.

When a call comes in on the dedicated line, the script for that particular call pops up automatically so he can take the call and serve the customer.

As he gains experience, he’ll be able to schedule his hours pretty much how he wants. His goal is to schedule 10 hours daily Monday through Thursday. That sounds like alot, but really he was sitting in traffic for 2 hours and working 8 hours in between (with some extra time for lunch) so it’s about what he was doing anyway.

When you talk to most LiveOps.com reps you hear they’re making on average about $12 - $15.

Here’s how that works.

Basically they are paid for every minute they’re handling calls. If a rep is busy 60 whole minutes per hour, they make a base of $15. Then depending on the orders they take and additional sales they make, they can earn bonuses or commissions depending on the promotion. Since it’s unlikely that you’ll be on the phone the whole 60 minutes per hour, that’s where the $12 to $15 per hour average comes in.

Another work at home mom who works for the firm says she makes about $15,000 per year working part time or 20 hours per week.

Please e-mail me the details on how to get started. I am a stay at home mom of 5. One of my children has passed away at birth, so now I have a huge funeral bill to pay along with house bills. I also have two young boys with ADHD, and it is hard to get a babysitter for them. I checked out other work at home sites, but I heard alot of those sites are scams. So I hate to through my money away when I don’t have much anyway.
So please if you could e-mail about your program that would be awesome.
    Thank-You,
    Tammy Calkins

Live Ops is a great job. I know many people that work there and love it. I can’t yet because I have way too much background noise going on. Once the kids are bigger, I will absolutely give them a try!

I have been working from home for Liveops since January 2008. I have to say I really enjoy it! I take inbound customer service calls for Direct Response and also do their Proflowers line. I can honestly say that I earn as much as I did when I worked outside my home. The money I save on gas and buying lunches everyday is also a nice little added bonus!

I think this is a great opportunity, but is it necessary to have excellent credit in order to be part of it, since they will do a background check/credit check? is it ok to have a bankruptcy behind you?

  • Kiesha Hayes on May 30th, 2008 at 10:04 am

I have already applied to LiveOps about 2 months ago. I haven’t heard anything from them so far. I really need a job and I think this would fit perfectly for me. I have Telemarketing and WAH experience

  • Toni Yager on June 2nd, 2008 at 2:39 pm

I was recommended by a prior co-worker to try your company. I filled out an online app yesterday, but am told it can take weeks even months to get a response. I am currently working for a homebase sales agent company and am treated like total dirt! I was on total disability due to a motorcycle ride when a truck hit us head on… I am much better now. The work at home position is definitely what I need to be doing but need a company who appreciates a dedicated, self motivated employee. I’ve heard that company is LiveOps. Is there any way I could possibly get an interview, or speak with someone about employment right away? I am currently #3 most phone hours, #4 most sales, #2 most ups…for the entire company…and my stats have actually dropped from last mo stats. I am soo looking forward to hearing from you. Thank you in advance for your time.

  • Kim on June 4th, 2008 at 4:22 am

As a text publisher you will be responsible for posting adverts for advertisers in specific places online. This is a WAH job. telecommute. Job pays 0.30 a post. Compares to chacha.com at 0.20 a post. Great for part-time work at home job.

  • SONNETTE on June 6th, 2008 at 8:36 pm

I WAS JUST INFORMED ABOUT LIVEOPS AND I BELIEVE I JUST MAY BE INTERESTED HOW DO I APPLY?

  • Lorraine Forbes on June 13th, 2008 at 11:09 am

I would like to apply for a op position

  • Gloria Hartford on June 17th, 2008 at 8:37 pm

As we say in sales and customer service-the core skill is listening. Read the posts-I am great-I am the best-HOW DO I APPLY? Over and over. There is a liveops link (that is that differently colored text that is underlined) and WOW-it zooms you to liveops. I warn you ahead of time-just to weed out half of you-criminal/credit background check and extensive testing-this is a legit company with a solid selection process.

    Good luck
