3 Keys To A Telecommuting Resume

June 12, 2007 by Chuck | 0 Comments

I’ve posted a link to my article on writing resumes. With a telecommuting resume, the issue isn’t the form so much, but the impact it must create.

Like all resume’s it must meet the needs of the reviewer: “I will not look like a fool for interviewing this person and I might look brilliant.”

But the telecommuter’s resume must really stand out you may never have a live interview except over the phone … and you could potentially be competing with people from anywhere in the US (or world).

Here’s what to keep in mind…

1. Each telecommute job post for a legitimate job could create up to 2000 responses. Your resume must be instantly unique in some way to catch attention and overcome the “snowblindness” that sets in from looking at all those word documents.

2. These resumes are scrutinized more heavily than ordinary resumes because they won’t be able to see you in the office.

3. The resume must replace your presence (not just “sell” the interview) or at least do more in this setting.

Read it all… good stuff
