Loudon County VA wins Telework Award

Increasingly urban governments - in this case a county – are allowing telecommuting. This county outside Washington DC had up to 14% participation.

Almost 300 workers have agreed to work part-time or full-time from home in the past year, with participation among non-public safety employees growing to more than 14 percent, according to a county press release.

The county’s telework program has increased productivity, decreased traffic congestion and pollution, and leveraged the government’s ability to retain workers, Diane O’Grady, Loudoun County telework coordinator, said in a press release.
