This has nothing to do with working at home but it does have something to do with the rising cost of starting a business.
The price for obtaining a New York City taxi license is now $600,000!
A lending company reported this after financing a $1.2 million dollar transaction for 2 such licenses. In 2001 they were only $195,000!
Now you know why there are “gypsy cabs”… ordinary entrepreneurs who could offer their services as drivers of cabs simply cannot afford to enter this market place.
What do they do with the $600,000 per cab license I wonder?
