Using SRDS to Identify and Market to Unique Marketing Niches

Here’s another article on using the SRDS to identify unique marketing niches. It finally published.

Keyword searches online only tell you how many people search for a particular term. They’re no guarantee they’ll ever see your advertisement. Mailing lists give you the number of interested people and the way to reach them, i.e. a postcard or direct mail program.

If you’re not familiar…

*SRDS stands for “Standard Rate and Data Service”

*It is the ultimate tool for finding mailing lists to rent on every subject.

*This tool helps you identify underserved but potentially profitable niches.

Here’s a related target marketing link…on keyword searches.

I am trying to get my hands on the SRDS thing to start a postcards campaign, but I don’t get it.

    Where to start?

Large metropolitan libraries usually have it.

Or contact a real mailing list broker. They can give you approximately the same information or check their SRDS.

“Or contact a real mailing list broker.”

thank you for your help chuck. How can I cintact list brokers?

You can try MelissaData.com. The problem is that you have to identify the niche first. SRDS is really a tool for identifying the right data that will lead to the mailing list.
The list broker will find it almost impossible to do your research for you without charging you for their time. You might end up paying the more than the $700.00 that an online SRDS subscription costs.
