How To Know If You Can Afford To Relocate Without Earning More Money?

Let’s say that your part time home based business is taking off. It’s all internet based so you’re wondering if you can relocate and may just work from home.

How do you konw.

Here are my suggestions… if you use the following calculations and you’re saying “I’d only have to cut my cost of living by 10%” I’d say you’re cutting things too close. You need a margin for emergencies.

And you also need to consider your other expenses like the cost of medical insurance, etc.

You’ll also want to make sure you have broad band service there.

But if you have that steady business, here’s a link that can help you get a feel for whether relocating to a rural area might be the move you need to start working at home.

1. Go to the CNN Cost of Living Tool

2. Compare cities close to where you are and where you want to go.

3. Type in your net revenues after benefits and expenses.

4. Press “compare”

As an example, if you’re moving from Baltimore, MD to Bangor, ME

Groceries will cost: 4.865% less

But if you move from Baltimore, MD to Bowling Green, KY, the changes look like this…

Groceries will cost: 9.795% less
