Rising gas prices are increasing the prevalence of telecommuting according to the Associated Press.
When I was driving to my meeting last week, the cost of gas was $3.09 at home, reached a peak (for us) of $3.29 in Ohio, and back to $3.09 in Pennsylvania. Oddly enough, prices were dropping by the Saturday of the Memorial Day weekend.
In Michigan friends reported the price of gas was up to $3.59 per gallon.
These prices are promoting telecommuting….
The National Recreation and Park Association will experiment with a system starting next week. Its 70 employees will be encouraged to work a 4-day week or telecommute instead of driving in the Ashburn offices.
