Some people want to be writers, but putting together a single article seems to take them a week. Unless someone is willing to pay you $1000 per article that’s not so good. (If you have found somone willing to pay you that, please email me!)
But for generating online money, writing articles is key. The more you tell, the more you get web visitors and SELL.
Here’s what I’ve found about writing.
0. You must know why you’re writing. If you think you can get $4 to $10 per article at Associated Content you must know what you want to accomlish. Make a full time living? Make an extra $500 per month to pay off debt? Loving to write is fine but having other goals will keep you focused.
1. Ask yourself what you know inside an out off the top of your head (e.g. because you worked in a particular field) or would love to learn about. Chances are you have information others want to read about.
2. Turn your lifetime experience or hobbies into many short articles of about 400-500 words. Too many want to write a novel before they’ve proven they can write one article.
3. Never try to tell everything in one article. Instead tell one thing in detail in multiple articles.
4. Turn everything you read into an article or review.
5. After writing an article go back and ask yourself… is this really two or more articles? If so, split it up into separate articles.
6. Keep a notebook with you to write down your article ideas - if your an online type, plug the idea with a possible writing date reminder in your online calendar to remind you later.
7. Set up a spreadsheet to track your activity and make sure you’re sticking with your schedule. If your goal is an extra $500 per month, then write down each article and what you’re paid per article to monitor your behavior to make sure you’re reaching your goal.
That will get you started…happy writing.
