Skype is teaming to offer services in 1800 Wal Marts to begin.
The stores will be offering headsets, Webcams and handsets designed to work with Skype as well as prepaid Skype phone cards.
Previous Skype entries here related to the use of Skypecast as a marketing and communications tool, vendors jumping on the Skype bandwagon, and the way Skype is liberating teleworkers.
While the basic PC to PC service is free, Skype now offers an unlimited service to US and Canadian phones for US/Canada residents for just $29.95 per year. International calls are as low as 2.1 cents per minute + connection fee.
At $29.95 per year for unlimited US/Canadian calling, this is an amazing savings for work at home business professionals, especially if they are doing outbound prospect calling for their business!
There’s one important caveat though that makes it necessary for all Skype users to have a land line or cell phone. As Skype themselves warn: “Skype is not a replacement for your ordinary telephone and can’t be used for emergency calling.”
