Why and When To Promote Yourself With Yahoo! Answers

May 14, 2007 by Chuck | 0 Comments

It’s official I just got an email from the Yahoo! Answers team telling me that one of my answers was chosen as the “Best Answer”!

The question was:

Is there any job in australia for a person having sound knowledge in legal documentations and proceedings?

I don’t go to Yahoo! Answers much but I posted the answer to test the system.

It just so happened that I had recently posted a related article on this blog that answered the question perfectly.

If you have a blog or website that addresses the concerns of people asking questions on Yahoo! Answers you should by all means consider this as a possible way to promote yourself online.

1. It positions you as service oriented (unless you just respond with an outright sales pitch or make an idiot of yourself) because you’re answering questions.

2. It identifies eager prospects, after all they’re there asking questions which indicates an interest and need and other people drawn to that question may share their interest in your product or service.

3. It can lead many people to your website and get them into your marketing funnel.

4. It’s free in terms of cost. Your expenditure is time. So you’ll have to decide if its cost effective for you to engage in this type of marketing.

5. The questions may spark your creativity and produce the inspiration for blog posts and or paid articles elsewhere.
