2 Ways To Know If You’re Cut Out To Work At Home Doing Medical Transcription?

Working at home in medical transcription isn’t just for moms. It’s just that moms ask me about it more. It’s great for men and couples too if both have the skill set to handle it.

Before you spend $2000 to $4000 on books, software, and training here are two tests you can give yourself for under $100.

1. Test your typing speed. If you’re not fast and accurate and unable to learn to be fast and accurate, you’re not cut out for the business. Sorry.

2. Test your knowledge of MEDICAL language. You can do that buy buying a text book and asking yourself: can I easily pick up the lingo enough to understand what a doctor is saying when transcribing medical notes?

To test yourself, buy the textbook professional medical transcriptionists learn from in school: The Language of Medicine with Animation CD-ROM (Language of Medicine (W/2cds)) If you love it, that’s a good clue you can learn it and do well.
