I like getting my Kiva Updates

I enjoy getting my Kiva updates by email. Since this blog is all about promoting small and home based business, I thought I’d put my money where my mouth is and support some entrepreneurs overseas with a microloan to get their business going.

I enjoy getting email updates when they’ve repaid part of their loan and my money is coming back to be recirculated later. I’d like to do a hundred times more. Maybe one day…

Today I got an update about Va Chou. I was one of the lenders who helped with her $1000 loan to expand her coffee and noodle business so that it would provide more income for her family.

Today I was notified she’s repaid another $83.00…49% of her loan.

I think I’ll go loan some more money right now while I have the chance to do some good.

Here’s who I loaned to next… a mom in Ukraine.

Valentina is married and has three children. She and her family live in Vasilyevka, Ukraine. Valentina runs a small business selling knitted wear, socks and shoes in the local market. Her kiosk is located on the main market aisle where there are many customers every day. Valentina has been in business for 10 years. Her family actively helps her with operations. Currently, her monthly gross income is about $2,000. Valentina is a high achiever and a consistent entrepreneur who is very knowledgeable about the market environment. Her professional skills and perseverant work have helped to ensure the success of her business. Valentina is requesting a loan for $1,200 to increase the assortment of inventory in her kiosk. She is hoping that this loan will help her venture grow and generate extra profits. Valentina is planning to use these funds to assist her family financially and help her children get settled in life. We believe that Valentina’s ability to identify tasks critical to business success and set up a system for accomplishing them will allow her to continue growing in the sphere of private entrepreneurship
