I guess the author knows what he’s talking about… he’s behind the Easy Website Creator , a low cost, template driven website creation tool for the “non technical”.
So what should you consider when building an online business from the ground up?
1. The initial decision is between doing it yourself and outsourcing the work. Simple template driven tools make creating the site in house a more viable option these days.
2. Decide what you want your website to do. Most basic function can be done by template driven sites… you might only need to add a customized logo (in Chuck’s opinion). But have the end result in mind when you begin.
3. Selling products direct from your site (as opposed to affiliate links) will take more “infrastructure” and expertise because a shopping cart/catalog system will be required.
4. Remember that you must provide a good “user experience”. We create websites and become totally focused on how the website meets our needs instead of our customers desires. What are they looking for? What can you give them to help them know, like, and trust you?
