According to the BBC Dell is being swamped by customers who want nothing to do with the new VISTA platform from Microsoft.
If your home or small business is currently using XP or a previous version of Windows, you may want to move slowly until you have time to be sure making such a move is the right course for your business.
A word to the wise…
The change came after Dell’s feedback site was swamped with calls for the return of the venerable software.
Now customers can opt for the Home or Professional version of XP on six models of Dell machines.

I had the following choices:
1: Stick with XP
2: Upgrade to Vista
3: Move to Linux.
I opted for number 3, and I can say hand on heart, I haven’t booted XP for 3 weeks. No need to. Ubuntu does everything XP did, but is FAR more powerful. I can even run Windows programs under WINE.
