Here’s a word of direct mail warning. It’s about an experience I had with a direct mail letter recently.
This wasn’t a business letter… I did it for a non profit group but I still wanted a response for them of course. The response in question was coming to a certain event.
I was headed out of town and had the idea… I’ll just send it by usps.com
It’s a wonderful service where you can mail letters by uploading a document and a data file for addresses.
I figured that if Netflix can have a DVD in your mail box in a day or two anywhere in the US by mailing from multiple locations, this contractor for the USPS would do something similar.
WRONG!
If you’re using this service for any type of mail that’s time sensitive, give yourself an extra 72 hours!
If I’d have known this, I’d have mailed them from home and just left later.

Get the right mailing list using a street map! Sort through dozens of demographics to refine your list and purchase instantly. You can even “draw” your desired mailing area directly on the map and pull from that area only. It’s perfect for any business.
