  • Taxes were due on April 17th this year because the 15th was a Sunday and the 16th is a legal holiday in the Nation’s Capital… Empancipation Day.
  • The average estimated cost of preparing one’s taxes rose to $207
  • The averate time spent on tax preparation for the year including record keeping was 24.2 hours per tax payer.
  • The whole tax process cost taxpayers 3.18 billion hours for the year
  • General Electric’s tax return - if printed - would have been over 24,000 pages (a Bible has about 1000 pages for comparison’s sake)
  • You can pay taxes due online… check irs.gov the IRS has an installment plan but costs $105 to set up… it’s cheaper to pay online if a relatively small amount is involved.
