This is a piece of email I received thanks to my Squidoo lense on Home Medical Trancription. I thought a number of my readers here might have a similar question and want to know my answer.

I’m an LPN looking to change careers–can you get adequate training from on-line courses? I am checking courses that are accredited by the AAMT.
Are companies willing to hire beginners–even though I have a good command of medical terminology.
My response:
Pat,
I cannot tell you about all online courses.
If you use the Oak Horizons link, you will ABSOLUTELY get the best training even though it is “online”. They are the only school I can recommend. Depending on where you live you can get some “class time” but my wife did hers 100% online.

i am not looking to get swindled. i honestly need a refresher course that’s inexpensive. i’ve done some transcription working in a hospital in the radiology dept a couple of years ago. I haven’t done any since. Is there a course out there for me or am I just bowling for dollars?
