Today, I was driving by a place I’d passed a million times. But today there was a huge sign “Online Auction” and then a website address.
It turns out this municipality is auctioning off their seized vehicles online at a site called GovDeals.com, and it’s specifically designed for government auctions.
Here’s my question, will having this separate site give them better traffic and price competition than an ebay auction? Or do they just make thing easier for government bodies to work with them?
From the GovDeals.com website:
GovDeals provides services to various governmental agencies that allow them to sell surplus and confiscated items via the Internet. Each participating agency has its own auction rules and regulations and may be subject to state and local ordinances.
