TIME is reporting on more child care studies.
What the article isn’t reporting is interesting to say the least: The long term social costs of non-parental child care: “the Study of Early Child Care and Youth Development found that putting a child in day care for a year or more increases the chances that the child will become disruptive in class–a trend that persists through the sixth grade. Perhaps most telling is the fact that these tendencies were evident despite the child’s sex, family income, and even the quality of the day care center in question.”
Unfortunately, most government policies and practices are forcing mom’s into the workplace.

The government should definetly give stay at home working moms a tax credit. If you have the initiative to find some work you can do at home, and look after a kid, all credit to you. No pun intended. No “get rich quick scheme” link either…

As a mother (at one point in my life - a single mom), former teacher, and homeschool mom, I wholeheartedly agree that there should be a credit for work-at-home moms! For years studies have reported that children who spend any length of time in daycare (regardless of provider) have difficulties later on. Not to mention the fact that when a child is in daycare all day, someone else is raising the child and the parents value system is not fully instilled in the child.
