Lessons For Professionals When Non Profits Turn To Blogging To Promote Themselves

March 19, 2007 by Chuck | 0 Comments

Non Profits sometimes have a hard time marketing. They consider themselves professional and benevolent so while they really want money, they don’t want to appear greedy. Blogging is the perfect vehicle for them to raise awareness of their causes.

The same problem plagues people like attorneys, consultants, accountants, etc who want to maintain a level of professionalism but - if the truth be told - really would like a predictable flow of business instead of the usual “feast or famine” mode. As the non profits have learned, blogging might just be what they need to do too.
It

1. Gets their message out

2. Positions them as an expert

3. Allows new prospects to lurk and contact you when they have a need.

4. Allows you to build an in house email list using a professional autoresponder.

If starting a full fledged blog is too much for you to commit to right now, at least build a Squidoo lense related to your area of expertise. Then as time allows, create a system of lead generation articles linking back to your primary marketing page whether that’s a blog or website.
