I’m always on the lookout for free ad spots for local businesses, including yours.
ShowMeLocal.com is the most recent one I came across. Here’s their FAQ
Basically it’s free to sign up and according to their advertising, it’s free to place ads.
I’m not exactly clear about back end costs for blogging, etc.
What’s a bit different about ShowMeLocal.com is that it’s combining elements of online advertising (businesses uploading a coupon) and social networking of small businesses working with other small businesses.
It’s in beta, but their blog is already up and I’ll share an article from there later.
One advantage of ShowMeLocal.com for business owners who don’t have time to learn how to optimize a website is that these listings should prove interesting to the major search engines because the ShowMeLocal.com folks are doing the optimization.
