Position Yourself As An Expert By Blogging

Becky McRay tells how and why you can position yourself as an expert through blogging.

Here are the key elements you must recognize in your blogging quest…

*You need no one’s permission to start.
*You can choose any topic you are passionate about.
*State your purpose/niche/approach early on.
*Link to authorities and add your thoughts. Trackback.
*Write original stuff too. *Tell others in your network/industry about your site, especially non-bloggers. Get their feedback, encourage them to refer others, invite them to write a guest article.
*Comment on other related blogs.
*Enter related carnivals.
*Reuse your blog postings as new workshops, handouts, articles, or tips.
*List yourself as the author of your blog. Include it in your bio, especially off-line.
*Treat yourself as an expert. Maybe no one in the off-line world thinks so, yet, but build your expertise.

If you think blogging is your key to exposure… read every word!

    Hi Chuck,
Just a few days ago I came across a ebook “Blogging to the Bank” and before I buy any ebook I look for reviews , in doing so that is how I found you,But I noticed that your review was almost a year old, My question is, Do you feel that BTTB is still working now that there has been some changes to blogger?

BTTB was Hot in march of 06, is it still worth a read? Are the concepts still relavent today?

    Thanks Chuck

Thanks, Chuck, for the link. Ted Demopoulos also deserves some credit for this article, since he was the one asking the great leading questions to draw this info out of me.

That phrase, “treat yourself as an expert” is key to success as a blogger. I think it is a key to success in any endeavour, though, not just blogging. Great list.
