The health insurance-government complex may not be able to keep costs low, but in the time worn model of business “if you can’t beat them, sue them” they tried to get the government to clamp down on a private association of individuals who voluntarily helped each other with their health insurance expenses. The monthly cost to participating families who meet the private association’s guidelines is about half or less of the cost of traditional “health insurance” because they follow different guidelines determined by the association.
The judge’s ruling read, “The publication materials of the Defendants (Medi-Share) and the testimony heard by this Court clearly establish that the Medi-Share program is a voluntary charitable, tax exempt organization designed to allow individuals, with the same religious beliefs to share in each other’s medical expenses.â€?
Many work at home families meeting association guidelines utilize the service.
