The Growing Trend In Teaching Kids To Cook

January 16, 2007 by Chuck | 2 Comments

Here’s an interesting website I ran across called kids-cooking-activities.com.

There’s a growing trend in teaching kids to cook. I guess because the generation after mine thought only McDonald’s could do that. Or was that my generation?

My daughter is 10 going on 11 and is fascinated by cooking. Her favorite TV channel is the Food Channel, and I’m amazed at her interest in the art of preparing food.

I know that this is a developing trend because in one of the posh suburbs north of me is a newly opened “Young Chef’s Academy” that charges a monthly fee for training kids how to cook.

kids-cooking-activities.com has taken a route that many who can’t afford a Young Chef’s academy will like… this website with it’s free newsletter.  Hopefully they’ll make enough money with Adsense revenue to keep things free!

I told my wife about it… perhaps she can find some ideas for her an my daughter to cook up together!

ohh such a nice one, it’s good to teach children at early age so it can help them be aware on such things as cooking.

We actually started a personal chef/catering business to help our son with his cooking endeavors. He is a freshman in high school and looking forward to culinary college. Currently we are working on building his chef’s resume’ before college. This site seems like a great place to learn many wonderful recipes! Thanks :)
