Technical Writer, Partner Solutions Organization – Mountain View
This position is based in Mountain View, CA.

Google’s Partner Solutions Organization seeks an outstanding Technical Writer to document Google products and services for partners who are integrating Google technology into their websites and products. We are looking for writers who have a high technical aptitude with engineering or web development experience, are passionate about technical writing; want to get their hands dirty by writing some scripts when the need arises, or an engineer who would like to become a technical writer. You will have opportunities to interact with many different Google products and with the cross-functional teams responsible for those products, and to continue to change the way that people find information.

When you are reading software documentation, do you quickly figure out how the documentation could be improved? Can you clearly and concisely explain complex technical subjects to both technical and non-technical audiences? Do you have the ability to learn and understand the technology behind new products and services quickly? Have you written PHP scripts, applets, JavaScript scripts just for fun? Is the need to help your readers understand a technology and get going with it the overriding goal of everything you write? Have you downloaded Google products and services, such as Google Earth, just to play around with them? If so, send us your resume!

Responsibilities:

• Develop and enhance applications that simplify the production and maintenance of our documentation.
• Document Google APIs and feed formats for internal and external customers. These documents enable partners to provide information to or request information from different Google products and services.
• Identify opportunities to simplify the lives of other team members through better documentation.
• Work with other team members to proofread and edit documents
• Coach team members on ways to improve their writing skills.
