PayPerPost.com Get Paid To Blog

As blogging “takes off” as a source of reader friendly and reader trusted media, advertisers are seeking to tap into the markets that bloggers reach.

There are a variety of “get paid to blog” systems and from time to time I mention them to you in case you are interested.

Here’s another one that is developing a good reputation, PayPerPost.com (By good reputation I mean that I understand it’s not too demonic and nitpicky to get a post approved and that bloggers are actually getting paid for approved posts and this is not a comment about whether you should trust them to marry your daughter, walk your dog or anything else – I’m just talking about what matters to bloggers!) And as of the last time I heard, their top blogger has earned $3,846.98 in the short time they’ve been online.  4 others had earned over $3,000 and 5 more over $2,200 to round out their “Top 10″.
Bloggers who have an active English Language blog (over 20 posts) with recent posts (last 7 days) and older and more active is better are likely to get approved and be able to earn some money.
They allow bloggers to choose which opportunities (if any) they’ll write about.

They blog on the topic, submit the link online, and if it meets the advertiser guidelines which are spelled out before the job is accepted, the blogger is paid.

One thing that’s different about PayPerPost.com than other blog ad networks is that the bloggers get to choose the advertiser they’ll promote up front, not JUST if the advertiser wants to post on their blog. Many other of the emerging blog networks work the other way arround: the blogger is contacted if an advertiser likes their site. PayPerPost.com’s method is friendlier to the blogger while still helping the advertisers as well as the other systems I’ve heard about.

The immediate advantage for the blogger is cash flow… instead of waiting for a visitor to click a pay per click ad, the blogger write’s and gets paid in the same time it’d take to wait for a Google Adsense or Yahoo Publisher Network payment to be made (usually 30 days). And of course, the blog can still earn ppc revenue.
One complaint I hear – and maybe “complaint” is too strong a word – is that some of the advertisers on PayPerPost.com seem to want hundreds of words for a pittance. One blogger told me that he saw an advertiser wanting a 300 word original article for $5.00.

From what I’m picking up from other bloggers who find these services attractive is that $5.00 is about right for something less than that… Maybe 200 words +/-.
There’s one drawback with this method of letting the blogger choose which ads they’ll take. Some of the blogs PPP points to as success stories remind me of how the Seinfeld show used to describe itself… alot about nothing in particular.

Because they can make money about phone cards, dating sites, phases of the moon, getting coupons online, John Kerry’s Botox usage (I’m exaggerating a bit) and everything in between, some bloggers try to do just that instead of posting on adverisers who are “on topic” for their own blog.

Overall I’d say – check out PayPerPost.com if you want to be paid to write and are just starting out and tell us what your experience is!
