Google To Post Multiple Listing Service Data

According to the Houston Business Journal, the Houston Association of Realtors has given Google permission to integrate their MLS real estate listings with Google Maps.

Evidently Google has to negotiate this on a region by region basis and some big cities in Googl’es back yard don’t want such easy access to the listings.

Could enterprising folks in these areas use Google Maps to print and sell weekly “self guided home shopping tour” maps of select neighborhoods that real estate agents would purchase and then give to “browsers” who’d then only contact them if they were truly interested in a property?
