I am fascinated by the auto industry and it’s potential for entrepreneurs. So when I hear about sites like LemonFree.com I routinely check them out. Anyone, even dealers, can use the site to post used car and truck listings for free.
Basically, you go to the site, type in what you’re looking for (LemonFree.com serves the US AND Canada) and it brings up listings in your state or province VERY Quickly. If you’re there to list a car,you can upload up to to 10 photos plus as much decsriptive text as you want after clicking on any of dozens of features the car might have.
And, again, it’s free.
Here are some sections you might want to see to get a feel for this cool site like Honda Civics or Ford F150’s or Subaru Foresters
The only thing I think could be added would be a tool to upload multiple vehicles at one time for dealers. Maybe I just didn’t see that tool.
So if it’s free, how do they make money you ask? The way they do that is that when people search for vehicles, the LemonFree.com site displays Google Adsense ads. That’s more than fair.
How could you use it to make money?
1. Sell your used car!
2. Help other people sell THEIR used cars - either individuals or dealerships. If you charge a % of the sale, it’s likely you’ll run afoul of state car dealer laws so watch out. If you are just running an “ad placement” service, you could charge an hourly rate or per insertion rate.
But whatever your interest, LemonFree.com is a great used car site, and I wish them well. Who knows… they may even give Craigslist a run for their money?
