How To Get 5 Star Amateur Reviews On Amazon.com – Part 2

December 6, 2006 by Chuck | 0 Comments

The last few days, I’ve written about the importance of getting amateur reviews (especially 5 star reviews) to help your book sell. You can read those posts here and here.

After yesterday’s post, probably most of you went… sure I’d love to get 5 Star Reviews for the cost of a book and postage! But where do I find these people?

Of course the first step is to use your own media outlet… your blog or website.

Another step would be simply to ask people you know and the people they know if they’d be wiling to read your book and give it a 5 star review if they really like it. By sharing your book locally, you save postage and may be able to get the book back to lend to others to review.

But there are other resources… internet newsgroups, forums, and other outlets where you could make this offer to selected people. Or just ask the bloggers whom you read regularly if they’d be interested!

But here’s one more source you need to know about: Dan Poynter’s “ParaReviews”.

Here you can see the listings  “at work” (go to page 6 of this pdf file). You can also see how to contact Dan so you can get almost free reviews (the cost of your book, postage and cover letter) for your writing project.

Happy publishing.
