Rhea is a home schoo mom who started hosting educational events.
She has a teleseminar to talk about the business.
Here’s the press release I received.
Creating events such as conferences not only helps lots of people by bringing them inspiration, education and motivation but they can also be very profitable if you do them right.
On the other hand, if an event is a huge flop, it can break your family or organization financially if you don’t know what you’re doing.
Trust me, I know this business well.
When I first started having events at my house in 2001, I had no idea where that first email invitation I sent to the Living Books discussion group would take my family. 100 people showed up here at our farm at the Backside of Nowhere for a one-day event.
The next year it happened again. Our plumbing and A/C unit couldn’t handle the 101 degree Southern summer heat with 100 people in the house.
The third year, I was coaching with Internet millionaire Armand Morin and invited him to speak to our group. He agreed to come from Raleigh, we rented a university in Florence, Alabama, and Entrepreneur Days was born.
Because of that event, I gained a new mentor who is an expert in conference production.
Debra Thompson-Roedl understood what we were doing, urged her client John Childers to speak for us (so he could meet Armand), and encouraged me to continue on a very lucrative path I had never considered before.
The rest is history.
This year we had about 566 people attend our events in Los Angeles and Nashville where John Taylor Gatto was our keynote.
Bob Circosta, co-founder of The Home Shopping Network, and Morgan Westerman, author of “The Interview with God, were featured speakers.
And top professionals from many areas of business inspired us, motivated us and offered amazing continuing education that you can’t get just anywhere.
RichDad.com even sent their Director of Education, Anita Rodriguez, to present Mr. Gatto and me with a signed copy of Robert Kiyosaki’s new book, Teach to Be Rich.
That event also resulted in Drew and I getting to spend an afternoon with Robert Kiyosaki, his co-author Sharon Lechter, their franchise director Kathleen, and Anita Rodriguez.
I merrily placed a checkmark by that item on my list of goals for 2006.
You just never know where God will take you when you have a few good mentors.
If the conference world fascinates you and you would love to learn more about how to produce events of all sizes, I want to introduce you to my conference mentor: Debra Thompson-Roedl.
In the past few years, she has partnered with one of my other personal mentors, Internet millionaire Armand Morin, who is famous for hosting the largest Internet marketing conference in the world, the Big Seminar.
I call his seminar Armand University.
Together Debra and Armand, along with her wonderful brother Robin and real estate investor Heather Seitz, have created a system that I think will amaze you.
Producing conferences isn’t for everyone. But if you love to host parties and would love to do it professionally, I’d love for you to join me to learn more as I chat with Debra on the phone this Tuesday night, December 5.
