LaserShield: A Simple System To Protect Your Home Based Business

I heard Lasershield being promoted on Rush Limbaugh’s show and immediately thought “What a great system for a budding home business!” If you can operate a portable phone, you can work this. You plug it in to the wall outlet and that’s about it! It comes in at under $200. You may also want to check prices at your local Costco!

The LaserShield Starter Kit protects any home, apartment, or condo, and is a perfect security solution for college dorms, retail stores, offices and hotels. Simply plug the Master Alarm Unit into a wall outlet.

The included Wireless Detection Unit is equipped with a state-of-the-art infrared detection system that protects 1100 square feet of detection. When an alarm condition exists the Master Alarm Unit sounds a 105-decibel siren; an active and very important line of defense against burglary. LaserShield receives its power from a standard wall outlet via a small low voltage transformer.

Sirens are a very important line of defense against burglary. The majority of intruders leave immediately when a siren is activated.

A 24-hour panic button remains active whether the system is armed or disarmed. Pressing the panic button at any time will immediately activate the siren and initiate a call to the 24 X 7 optional Rapid Response Monitoring Service through your existing phone line. The Keychain Remote also includes a panic feature by pressing both buttons simultaneously. Optional Rapid Response Monitoring Service is available thru Lasershield’s website. LaserShield systems are expandable. Additional Wireless Detection Units or Key Chain Remotes can be learned into your system in less than 60 seconds. Each LaserShield device is equipped with a backup battery. The Master Alarm Unit battery is rechargeable.

The system was easy enough to set up although much print is spent in reminding you (and further reminding you..ad nauseum) that you need to subscribe to the phone connection monitor part of the system. For my money the phone monitor aspect is not worthwhile. The response time of local police is iffy at best and by the time the police arrive, all that is left to do is call for the print detail and count your loss. The important part of the system is the alarm which seems to activate well enough on my set up. It is loud enough to hear and perhaps(given the fact that the crook is nervous anyway) scare the suspect out of the house, which is what I want, but the alarm audio is not..shall we say..spine chilling. All in all, I am satisfied but I have high hopes that it will not be tried under actual conditions. Bottom line is I think I am happy with the money and effort. As a retired police officer I am aware that burglary happens in the daytime almost exclusively so I activate only when I leave in the daytime for hours or days at a time.
