Hey, do you market anything that ties in with your community somehow?
Maybe you sell cellular phones, CB radios, or GPS systems. Perhaps you sell “family emergency kits”. Possibly you sell nutritional products and just want a punblic service project to get you city wide, county wide, or area wide free publicity and contact with lots of potential customers.
So how do you get TV stations, newspapers, radios, and other medial outlets to give you free publicity and favorable publicity plus access on a favorable basis to government officials and community leaders?
Organize your community for the NationalSOS program. It’s simple, will let you help alot of people, and get your name “out there” as a “pillar of the community”.
Basically this program was created after a wave of national emergencies… 9-11, Hurricane Katrina, etc.
One common denominator of these various emergencies is that the cell phone system and many land line communication systems went down.
The system that stayed up and running was a private radio network of HAM radio operators.
They did a great job, but there was no way for local folks in the disaster affected area to easily tie into this system. HAM radios require licensing and a degree of muss and fuss the average person won’t go through.
The NationalSOS program requires a little time to learn how to operate a license free radio, some local training, and you can get these radios for $10 to $30 at most any sporting goods store.
100 million have already been sold just so families can find each other at the shopping center.
Every family would benefit from having some in their family emergency kits - if a community is set up to use the program locally.
The Washington, DC area already has a program like this in place. The guidelines for creating such a program are already online. Below is a graphic about how the program would link local folks to the existing HAM radio network that works so well.
It just takes someone who cares about their community to take the lead.
