From the Teens Make Money Blog

With all the talk about making money online, you normally only hear discussions about Adsense, affiliate programs, membership sites, etc. All these involve selling someone else’s products or services.

This young lady and her partner created a service which became ideal for resale so they could cut out the “middle men” when it comes to making money online. Or at least the new owners can. The kids who created it are still in school and pretty happy right now with $200,000 of stock and earning $40,000 per year each just working 20 hours per week.

Love the internet? While her friends were playing around on MySpace, Weina Scott got into podcasting.

With $0 in start up capital, Weina Scott is now earning $40,000 per year working just 20 hours per week - after doing her homework.

She’s just 17.

She and a friend - who lives in Minnesota - started the website Switchpod.com which allows users to upload audio and video to share. In just a few months they were up to 300,000 visitors per month and charing them $5 - $30 per month depedning on how much they uploaded in addition to a free, advertising supported option.

But that’s not where the money is. They were purchased by a larger company because of the potential. At 800,000 downloads per month, they can attract major advertisers. In anticipation of that golden day, the people who bought the company paid the two creators (Weina and her friend) $200,000 in stock plus $40,000 per year each in salary!
