Can Cindy Cullen Help You Work From Home?

September 18, 2006 by Chuck | 1 Comment

Cindy Cullen has been working at home for the last 5 years, though admittedly she gets out of the house once in a while to teach a class at the local community college. Even her husband works at home. How did they do that? I thought you might want to know while announcing her new forum to help others achieve their dreams Work At Home Ventures.

Here’s her story:

Before I had children, I worked as a computer programmer for GE Information Services in Brentwood, TN. I loved my job, but, after my first child was born in 1993, he and was very sick with asthma and breathing problems. I became determined to find a way to stay home.I worked really hard his first two years to pay off all our debts. I did everything I could to save money and I took on extra work doing bookkeeping for the daycare where my son stayed. Two years later, the day my second child was born, was my last day at GE. I had all our debts paid off except our house. Just before I left GE, my husband got a job with GE as a customer service representative.I then took some odd jobs teaching computers at the local Christian High School, working with businesses that had online projects that I could do from home, consulting, babysitting etc. to help make ends meet.Three years later, in 1998, my third child was born, and our house seemed to be getting much smaller. My husband’s dream has always been to live on his family’s 300 acre farm. So, he asked his boss at GE if he could work from home and move to KY. To our amazement, his boss said, “Sure!”. In 1999, we sold our house and moved to Western KY where we built a new house on the family farm and became completely debt free.Since then, my husband’s division was sold by GE to another company, GXS, but he continues to work from home. And I have started a web hosting and design business from my home, Promised Land Services, LLC – http://promised-land-services.com We homeschool our 3 children on the farm and we LOVE working from home.

Work At Home Ventures helps people learn about internet marketing, the technical aspects of running a business online, how to make digital products, how to sell on eBay, plug people into MLM’s or direct sales companies, and we give information, support and inspiration to keep on keeping on when the going gets tough. I think that covers most of it. If it has to do with working from home, we try to cover it. Our goal is to help anyone that has the desire to work from home, find a way to do that. We are especially trying to simplify the technical aspects so that anyone can do it without spinning their wheels figuring out how.
