This has nothing to do with home business - directly. But it is about our Government’s approach to things which strangles business and assumes that as long as a politician is able to skim money off the project, something is getting done.
I suggest you read this Wall Street Journal commentary on Katrina. While the mainstream media is whining about everything that hasn’t happened, nobody seems to mention that the U.S. government has paid more than 100 billion on the recovery effort.
The actual “cost” of housing some people in trailers rose to $400,000 per family. Is that crazy or what?
The WSJ notes that New Orleans’ recovery shows the most progress where private businesses have stepped in.
Thousands upon thousands of volunteers have poured in to the area to rebuild homes or who know what might have happened.
But it’s not because there wasn’t enough money contrary to the whining. We all paid through the nose and into some cook’s wallet!
