This isn’t exactly new, but it’s designed to frighten the heck out of you so you open the email and click the link that will steal your PayPal login information.
The subject line reads something like:
Receipt for Your Payment to brandy430138@yahoo.com
It’s designed to make you think “Oh my gosh! I didn’t send any money! I need to get to the bottom of this!”
But when you click the link, it doesn’t send you to PayPal.
It sends you to a thief.
The address for the redirect link is
http://www.google.com/url?q=3Dhttp://0xDA.0xF2.0x9C.0x5A/bbs/u=pload/tobedel/r/r.html
If you check the properties of the link you’ll first see another trusted name Google to add to their ruse and they hope you don’t see where Google will redirect you using this trick.
So beware such false messages!
