Professional Tracking For Your Craigslist Ads

Craigslist ThumbnailWazee Marketing offers professional tracking for your Craigslist Ads… The first three months is free, then it’s $5.00 per month. The bite? $125 to set it up! Ouch!

They make a good point but a $125 set up still seems pricey. Maybe that just weeds out the time wasters and tire kickers.

If you’re already making good money on Craigslist and want to expand though, you may need to check this service out.

Tracking the performance of your Craigslist Ad Campaign enables you to determine which ads and which titles generate more leads. I have seen certain titles on Craigslist generate seven (7) times more clicks than other titles, but you will never know this for yourself unless you utilize a tracking system. The same goes for your actual ads.

This system shows you how many page views your ads receive, which indicates how well your titles entice people to click them. If you have a website but do not have sophisticated web statistics software or simply do not have the time or knowledge to setup a system on your own, then I can set up forwarding pages for you. You simply link your Craigslist ads to one of the forwarding pages, and when a visitor clicks the link they are sent through the forwarding page and directly to your website landing page. This occurs seamlessley, and the visitor will not even realize they have gone through another page. But what this does for you is it records exactly which Craigslist ad that visitor came from.

There is a way to track your Craigslist ads for FREE!

Go to Logdy.com and sign up for their free web statistics/analytics service.

You get a snippet of javascript to put on your web pages that you want to monitor.
(You can do several sites from the same account)

So, put the code on your landing or sales page that your Craigslist ad is pointing
    to.

Then check ‘referred pages’ in your account and it will show you the total number of hits from Craigslist.

It can even show you what part of the US or the world they came from.

    Worth a checkout.

This is ok if you want to track action to your landing page. To track Craigslist response to headlines, you can’t use java script on CL… you need to have an image (visible or not) that is triggered. You can do this if you have your own website, can host images there, and can track their appearance when someone opens a CL ad.

The javascript doesn’t go on Craigslist, it goes on your web site or landing page.

Then when you go into your account and select referrer pages you get this:

    http://minneapolis.craigslist.org/bab/1890011
    Count: 18 Percent: 45%

That is a hot link to your Craigslist ad and that is how many times it was clicked. If you can’t remember which ad it is, just click on the hot link and it’ll take you right to it.

Give logdy.com a try. I think you’ll be surprised with all you can get for FREE!

I personally use hypertracker to track all of my ads. While this is relatively inexpensive, someone like me who handles tons of Craigslist traffic, this service sounds awesome! Thanks for the tip!

    Chuck,

It would be great if you can tell me an example of the “java script” that you referenced that could track the image file.. or any documentation on this would be great. Also I believe the Image file would need to reside on my server and a link to it on the Craigslist AD page. Is that correct.

Also Wazee Marketing does not look as though they still make/market the software.

I would really appreciate it, if you could let me know

    Thanks a lot
    Hilario
