Here’s the latest from the mailbox about home medical billing opportunities.
Well the ftc tells us about all these companies that are scamming home based jobs is there someone who knows where these “real” companies exist? I am a medical Billing and Coding specialist interested in working from home, Not opening my own buisness but to work for company. Please help
Thanks
Kathy
OK Kathy, I’ll try.
The FTC warns about companies offering scams… usually promises of work that involve selling “manuals” of non existant companies.
Usually these aren’t home medical billing companies as much as training courses telling you how to get started in the field. You’re already trained in medical billing and coding so that’s one advantage you have.
The real problem facing you is marketing your expertise.
Here are some possible options to help you market your services.
Have you tried posting on Craigslist under “services” (don’t leave your real email, use Craigslist’s forwarding service) and advertise your experience, ability and desire to do this from home?
Have you contacted local physician offices?
You may wish to use your desktop publisher to create a card or flyer to drop off at these offices advertising these services.
Have you contacted local medical billing companies or hospitals?
There may be an opportunity in your city by checking these options.

Are there any home based opportunities avialable for insurance followup and not for billing. Although I have billing experience, I am interested in followup versus actual billing.
