I got spammed by a small timer today.
They sent an email from yahoo with a yahoo unsubscribe address… I mostly don’t trust these people to honor the unsubscribe since they’re spammers anyway.
So I looked at the html and noticed one of those “url shortening services”.
I clicked through to a landing page at freehostia.com
At the bottom of the page was a tinyurl link.
So I followed that to an NPN affiliate.
Supposedly NPN has a “zero tolerance” policy for SPAM.
We’ll see.
I figured this person went through so many steps to avoid detection and even used a false name that they must really want me to report their name and ID number to the company to reward them for their efforts … so I did.
If they company’s honest about hating spam, I guess that’s one less millionaire in the making.
That’s the only way to deal with small time spammers if you have the time and will…
