If you are in one of these occupations, you may want to consider a job change according to MSN Careers. (Some can be “rescued” by value adding and specializing, but are “gone” if you keep trying to do things the “old way”)
1. Farmers and Ranchers
2. Stock Clerks and Order Takers
3. Sewing Machine Operators
4. Mail Clerks and Mail Machine Operators
5. Computer Operators
6. Secretaries - Except Legal, Medical and Executive (See, specialized secretaries are in demand… it’s specialization that’s required)
7. Telemarketers
8. Meter Readers
9. Parts Salespeople
10. Telephone Operators

Wow! That is surprising. I started my own home business after I was laid off from my telemarketing job…GO Figure its #7 on the list. I guess it helps knowing that there have been lots of layoffs, makes you feel a bit better about not having a “real” job. I have also found another blog that I subscribe to that provide biz information for entrepreneurs
www.dalbeyblog.com, its really helped me to stay on the right track! Even though there are so many layoffs I hope more and more people will realize that there are other choices! Who knows any job can make the top 10 list!

I have no idea where they get their stats from, but my city is a thriving hub for telemarketers and call centers, not to mention my friend who works as one of many pharmacy stock clerks (for minimum wage though; it may be MSN means higher paying careers).
