Dane, me and the rest of our little blogging network have been inundated by comment spammers. (By 1608 CST today, we found out our comment spam software Akismet had some downtime… when it’s not working, you know it!)
Sure, we use software designed to intercept blog comment spam, but we still have been assaulted by folks trying to use our network to promote their own shady deals.
Any suggestions with how to deal with blog comment spam?
Other than turning off the ability to leave comments.
I think we’ll have to go to a graphical image system where people have to confirm that they’ve left a comment.
Personally, these people are nothing but filthy cyber thieves and their websites need to be shut down and themselves consigned to Siberia with no internet connection.
