2. See if your boss has a good impression of you as a good candidate for telecommuting.
3. A few months of planning before the formal request for a work at home schedule is important. Regular submission of accomplishment reports can help.
4. Have the proposal in black and white. Provide monitoring methods for your tasks. Highlight the benefits the employer can gain from your telecommuting, which might include:
- decrease of operational expenses
- improved employee productivity
- less absenteeism
If your boss says no during your first attempt, don’t fret. There’s always next time and whole lot of opportunity for you to prove that you are better off as a home based employee.
