19 Killed In Aftermath of Thunderstorms

Last night I wondered if I’d become another “statistic” as thunderstorms killed 19 across the US.

This morning now that the terror has subsided somewhat, there are people - possibly home based businesses if they choose to operate that way - who are being called to clean up the mess.

Specialized contractors who work to restore water damaged structures if the problems are minimal…

General contractors if the structures are totally destroyed.

Independent insurance adjusters.

Roofers.

And many more…

These businesses have the advantage of knowing when prospects are “eager”… they watch the weather report or get a call from well cultivated clients… usually insurance companies.

That cuts down on marketing costs.

Revenues tend to be higher than average … such as the people rebuilding New Orleans after Katrina.

But expenses can be higher as well… such as the people rebuilding New Orleans after Katrina.

Depending on how they handle themselves, they are perceived as heroes or opportunist pigs so that one goes both ways.

The downside is working away from home in the event of a far flung disaster.

Does your phone ring - not just 911’s - when there’s a disaster?
