It’s Been A Wild Few Days - Global Career Development Facilitator

March 31, 2006 by Chuck | 1 Comment

It’s been a wild few days… hence my lack of posts.

One thing that happened was that I was recognized locally for receiving a Global Career Development Facilitator designation.

Here’s some of the things we had to study over the course of a year to receive the certification…

Career and Labor Market Information and Resources including the Internet
Career Planning Processes
Basic Helping and Facilitation Skills
Career Development Models and Theories
Informal and Formal Assessment Approaches
Diversity and Specific Population Needs
Workshop Facilitation
Case Management and Referral
Ethical and Scope of Practice Issues
Professional and Resource Portfolios
Cutting-Edge Job Search including Electronic Job Search

As far as I know, I’m the only… or one of the few … GCDF’s specializing it the work at home and/or telecommuting field!

Glad to be back. I’ll tell you more about what I learned at this conference on the future of workforce development in the US.
